Aamir Khan Recalls Time Spent with Soldiers
Actor Aamir Khan recently came under fire for his production house’s delayed acknowledgment of Operation Sindoor, India’s response to the April 22 Pahalgam terror attack. Addressing the criticism during a conversation with Rajat Sharma on Aap Ki Adalat, Aamir expressed his deep respect for the Indian Armed Forces and shared a personal experience from the time of the Kargil War.

Aamir revealed that following India’s victory in the Kargil War, he spent eight days with soldiers along the border. “I had gone there maybe many don’t know but after the Kargil War, I was the only one who spent eight days in the region. I flew to Leh and travelled by road toward Srinagar, visiting every regiment along the way. I met the soldiers, not for publicity, but to thank and salute them for protecting us,” he said.

He added, “But what I found during those eight days was that our soldiers don’t really need motivation. Despite facing extreme conditions, they were cheerful, confident, and full of spirit. I thought I was going to lift their morale, but in truth, they lifted mine. I ate with them, listened to their stories, and even spent one night in a bunker on the border with six to eight soldiers. I don’t think anyone else has done that.”
Upcoming Film: Sitaare Zameen Par
Aamir Khan’s next film is Sitaare Zameen Par, directed by RS Prasanna. The film is a sports drama and an official remake of the Spanish movie Champions. Aamir plays a basketball coach who trains a team of neurodivergent children for a tournament. Genelia D’Souza also stars in a key role. The film is set to hit theatres on June 20.
