Ahan Was Sidelined After Signing Border 2
Suniel Shetty has always been a straight shooter, and in a recent heartfelt revelation, the veteran actor opened up about the hurdles his son Ahan Shetty has faced in Bollywood, especially after signing on for the highly anticipated Border 2. While the original 1997 war drama remains one of the milestones of Suniel’s career, it seems the journey for his son into the same cinematic universe hasn’t been as smooth.

According to Suniel, Ahan was quietly dropped from several projects soon after joining Border 2. He hinted that personal grudges from certain individuals may have played a part in these setbacks. When asked how this could happen despite Ahan being a star kid, Suniel offered a humble and introspective response:
“Maybe mujhse galti hui hogi, mujhse naaraaz honge… and they want to take it out on somebody else.”

Yet, he remains grounded in his belief that everything happens for a reason.
“You can’t change destiny,” he stated, adding that Ahan has still managed to forge genuine friendships in the industry. “He’s got friends like Varun Dhawan and Diljit Dosanjh. They love him like a younger brother.”

Reflecting on Ahan’s debut film (Tadap), Suniel pointed out that despite the challenges of the pandemic, it pulled in ₹35–40 crore with an opening of ₹4–5 crore. Now, all eyes are on Border 2, where Ahan will share the screen with big names like Sunny Deol, Varun Dhawan, and Diljit Dosanjh. “Fingers crossed,” Suniel said. “I hope Border 2 crosses ₹500 crore, and I pray Ahan is appreciated along with the rest of the cast.”

Seeing fresh talent succeed gives Suniel hope for a more inclusive future in Bollywood. “Maybe this is the turning point where producers start believing in giving more chances to youngsters.”
In an industry known for its glitter and grind, Suniel’s words are a reminder that behind every star kid is still a struggler and behind every success, a story of resilience.
