The monsoon mayhem didn’t stop in Bihar. In neighbouring Uttar Pradesh, the situation turned grim as a pontoon bridge over the Narayani River was swept away in the wake of torrential rain and water discharge from Nepal. The destruction has cut off several villages in Kushinagar and Maharajganj districts, severing vital connections to tehsil headquarters and leaving residents stranded.
