Despite being a part of Bollywood’s golden era alongside stars like Shashi Kapoor and Dharmendra, Kumar deliberately stayed away from the rat race. In a past interview with film journalist Subhash K. Jha, the soft-spoken actor once remarked, “I am not a greedy film person… While my contemporaries Dharmendra and Shashi Kapoor acted in nearly 300 films each, I’ve done hardly 35 in my entire career.”
