Afghanistan Cricket Board has chosen its team for three T20I series matches in India. Ibrahim Zadran is leading the squad, which includes skilled players like Mohammad Nabi and Rashid Khan. This is the first time Afghanistan is sending a team to India for T20I series matches. Rashid Khan, the usual captain, is not leading due to a back injury; instead, Ibrahim Zadran will be in charge.
The Chairman of the Afghanistan Cricket Board, Mr. Mirwais Ashraf, believes Afghanistan is no longer an underdog and expects a tough series against India. Zadran previously led Afghanistan to a win against UAE. The team includes Mujeeb Ur Rahman for spin and Ibrahim Alikhil as a backup wicketkeeper. The pace attack includes Naveen-Ul-Haq and Fazalhaq Farooqi, who have experience playing T20I series in India.
