Accused Identified as Kaushal Sharma
The accused, 29-year-old Kaushal Sharma, hails from Khuriyapura village in Agra. Since his mother Yashoda left the family to marry Ramnivas Sharma, Kaushal had been living with his father, Sanjay Sharma. Investigations reveal that Kaushal harboured deep resentment over the years and had been plotting revenge.

According to Kaushal’s statement to the police, he felt his mother’s decision had brought shame upon him in the community, making it difficult for him to find a bride. Humiliated by the social stigma, he claimed that he began planning to kill her.

Murder Carried Out with Help of Friends
Kaushal confessed that he, along with his friends Bobby and Rajat, lured Yashoda out under the pretext of taking her to buy medicine. They convinced her to sit in a Scorpio SUV, and after driving a distance, they threw her out of the vehicle and then ran her over, killing her. The body was later dumped by the roadside, and the trio fled the scene.

Body Discovered Near Khandia Bridge
On July 29, police found the body of an unidentified woman near Khandia bridge in the Balrai area. The victim was later identified as Yashoda, a resident of Khuriyapura village under the jurisdiction of Jaitpur police station in Agra. Her current husband filed a complaint, prompting a detailed police investigation.

CCTV Footage Led to Breakthrough
A breakthrough in the case came when CCTV footage showed Kaushal with his mother shortly before her death. When confronted, Kaushal admitted to the crime.

Kaushal Sharma and his two accomplices, Bobby and Rajat, have been arrested. Police also recovered the Scorpio SUV, a motorcycle, and three mobile phones used during the crime. The trio has been booked under Sections 103(1), 201(3), and 201(5) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) and sent to jail.
