Bollywood icon Amitabh Bachchan once again showed his deep-rooted patriotism as he celebrated India’s remarkable rise to becoming the 4th largest economy in the world. The megastar took to social media and his personal blog to express pride in this milestone and to salute the young warriors of India, the Agniveers.

India Marches Ahead on the Global Stage
In a post on X (formerly Twitter), Amitabh shared a powerful image collage of Agniveers, the young soldiers trained under the Agnipath scheme. Alongside it, he wrote:
“Agniveer Zindabad. Bharat Mata Ki Jai!! Jai Hind.”
He followed it up with another enthusiastic tweet:
“T 5390(ii) – Jai Hind! India 4th largest economy in the World… USA, China, Germany, India… and in 2.5 – 3 yrs will become 3rd largest.”

He cited the latest GDP figures to highlight India’s progress:
- USA: $30.51 trillion
- China: $19.23 trillion
- Germany: $4.74 trillion
- India: ~$4 trillion, having just surpassed Japan
Amitabh expressed awe at the nation’s achievement, especially considering its relatively recent independence:

“What an incredible achievement for a country that became Independent just 75+ years ago. How many other nations that got Independent 75 years back have attained this kind of achievement?”
A Salute to the Agniveers
Bachchan didn’t stop at economic glory, he also paid heartfelt tribute to the Agniveers, India’s young soldiers who are part of the Agnipath scheme. These short-term service personnel have been at the forefront of protecting India during recent conflicts.

On his blog, he wrote: “And what of the Agniveers… the young fighters who fought to protect us during this recent attack on our land.” Praising their dedication, he described them as: “Young, dynamic fighters… trained with discipline and patriotism… They embody courage and commitment.”
He hailed them as the symbol of a modern and youthful defence force, proudly adding: “I salute them for facing the enemy with courage and valour.”
