The International Indian Film Academy (IIFA) Awards were hosted in India this year. Held on March 8 and 9 in Jaipur, the event honored the year’s best performers across various categories. The highlight of this year’s IIFA was the film ‘Lapata Ladies,’ which swept the awards with a total of 10 wins.

Directed by Kiran Rao, Laapataa Ladies won the award for Best Film, while Kiran Rao herself was honored as Best Director. Additionally, three actors from the movie received accolades. The film also bagged awards in categories ranging from music to editing.

Produced under Aamir Khan’s production banner, ‘Laapataa Ladies’ featured actors like Nitanshi Goel, Pratibha Ranta, Sparsh Srivastava, Chhaya Kadam, Ravi Kishan, and Satendra Soni. Released last year, the film performed exceptionally well at the box office, earning ₹26.26 crore worldwide on a modest budget of ₹4-5 crore. ‘Lapata Ladies’ was also nominated for the Oscars this year but missed out on winning the award.
