Popular YouTuber and podcaster Ranveer Allahbadia, aka Beer Biceps, has found himself in the middle of a massive controversy after making an inappropriate remark on a comedy show. His comments, which many found crude and offensive, have drawn the attention of the Parliamentary Standing Committee on Communication and IT, with reports suggesting that he may soon be summoned for questioning.

Shiv Sena (UBT) MP Priyanka Chaturvedi was among the first to call for action, asserting that there should be clear boundaries when it comes to content in the name of comedy. She stated that she intends to raise the issue during the ongoing budget session of Parliament.
“Having a platform doesn’t mean you can say anything. He has millions of subscribers, top politicians have appeared on his podcast, and even the Prime Minister has given him an award. As a member of the Parliamentary Standing Committee for the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, I will take this matter up,” Chaturvedi said on X (formerly Twitter).

Backing her stance, Biju Janata Dal (BJD) MP Sasmit Patra emphasized the need for stricter guidelines to curb inappropriate content, particularly from influencers with young, impressionable audiences.
“Disparaging remarks like these are used too loosely, and it’s high time we introduce tougher measures against them,” Patra remarked.

What Sparked the Outrage?
The controversy erupted after Allahbadia made a shocking remark during an episode of Samay Raina’s ‘India’s Got Latent’, a comedy show. Not only did he ask a contestant about the “size of his p***”*, but he even went as far as to offer ₹2 crore for an explicit act. The final straw? A wildly inappropriate question about a contestant’s parents, lifted from another YouTube episode: “Watch your parents have sex every day for the rest of your life, or would you join in once and stop it forever?” Social media users were quick to slam the influencer for his distasteful remarks, with many calling for action against him.

Realizing the gravity of the backlash, Allahbadia issued an apology, admitting that his comments were out of line. “My comment wasn’t just inappropriate; it wasn’t even funny. Comedy is not my forte. I am just here to say sorry,” he said.
