Sex Lives of College Girls
It’s the end of an era for Sex Lives of College Girls—at least on Max. The hit comedy series, co-created by Mindy Kaling and Justin Noble, has officially been cancelled after three seasons on the Warner Bros. Discovery-owned streaming service.
The show, which first premiered in 2021, wrapped up its third season on January 25. While fans may be heartbroken over the abrupt end, there’s a glimmer of hope—according to insiders, Warner Bros. Television is actively shopping the show to other platforms, meaning it could still find a new home.
Sex Lives of College Girls

Set at the fictional Essex College in New England, the series followed the messy, hilarious, and deeply relatable lives of four college roommates. Season 3’s cast included Pauline Chalamet, Amrit Kaur, Alyah Chanelle Scott, Christopher Meyer, Ilia Isorelýs Paulino, Renika Williams, Gracie Lawrence, and Mia Rodgers. Notably, Reneé Rapp, who played fan-favorite Leighton, had stepped down as a series regular after Season 2, only appearing in a recurring role for Season 3.

Despite strong critical acclaim in its early seasons—scoring a near-perfect 97% and 93% on Rotten Tomatoes—the most recent season didn’t fare as well, dropping to a disappointing 29% approval rating. While Max doesn’t typically disclose viewership numbers, the dip in critical reception may have played a role in the decision to pull the plug.
With Sex Lives of College Girls out of the mix, Max’s original comedy lineup now consists of Hacks (prepping for its fourth season), And Just Like That (returning for a third season), and Peacemaker (gearing up for Season 2).

Will Sex Lives of College Girls get another shot on a different platform? That remains to be seen—but fans will be keeping their fingers crossed.
