The production house Yash Raj Films has officially announced the release date of War 2, starring Hrithik Roshan and South superstar Jr. NTR. This action-packed film is scheduled to release in cinemas worldwide on August 14, 2025, coinciding with India’s Independence Day.

Yash Raj Films made the announcement on social media, posting, “We must say, you’ve set it up brilliantly before we even begin marketing War 2. Get ready for global destruction on August 14, 2025!”

War 2 will be the sixth installment in Yash Raj Films’ Spy Universe. The franchise previously delivered blockbuster films like Ek Tha Tiger, Tiger Zinda Hai, Tiger 3, War, and Pathaan. Upcoming projects like Alpha and Pathaan 2 are also a part of this expanding cinematic universe.

While War (2019) was directed by Siddharth Anand, War 2 will be helmed by Ayan Mukerji. The original film featured Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff in lead roles, but in the sequel, Hrithik will face off against Jr. NTR. The film will also feature Kiara Advani as the lead actress.

Superstar Rajinikanth’s film Coolie was also set for an Independence Day release. However, reports suggest that to avoid a box office clash, the makers of War 2 and Coolie have mutually decided to release their films on different weeks.
