In a dramatic twist of events on the streets of Bengaluru, a heated road altercation turned into a viral spectacle after a woman was caught on camera hitting an auto-rickshaw driver with her slipper. The incident, which took place on Saturday, saw Pankhuri Mishra, a Bihar native, physically assaulting the driver, Lokesh, during a confrontation that quickly spiralled out of control.

According to Mishra, she was siting on a two-wheeler with her husband when the auto driver allegedly ran over her foot, a claim Lokesh firmly denies. The situation escalated when the driver began filming the argument, prompting Mishra to lash out, visibly agitated.

“Banaega video? Chal bana video (You’ll make a video? Go on, make your video),” she can be heard saying in the viral clip, striking Lokesh multiple times with her slipper. She then calls someone on her phone, accusing the driver of both injuring her and “misbehaving”.

Interestingly, her husband was calmly seated on the two-wheeler throughout the commotion, recording the entire incident himself.

Lokesh later explained that he began filming because the couple were arguing in Hindi rather than Kannada, which added a cultural layer to the already tense encounter.

The situation took a surprising turn after police intervened. Mishra was arrested and later released on station bail. In an unexpected gesture, she and her husband were seen apologising to Lokesh, even bowing down at his feet.

“I apologise. I am pregnant, and I panicked. I kept thinking about what might happen if I had a miscarriage,” she explained tearfully.

Attempting to defuse any regional tension, Mishra added, “We love Bengaluru, we love the culture, and we love the people. I hold no hatred toward Kannada speakers.”

The incident has ignited conversations on civility in public disputes, regional sensitivities, and the power of viral videos in shaping public opinion.
