Investigations revealed that Harini had been married to 41-year-old farmer Dasegowda HP since 2012. She reportedly met Yashas at a village fair three years ago, and their friendship gradually evolved into an extramarital affair.

Dasegowda had discovered the affair months earlier and involved both families in resolving the issue. Harini had reportedly cut ties with Yashas following family counseling. However, the two reconnected recently and agreed to meet in person, a meeting that ended in tragedy.

According to police, Yashas had likely premeditated the murder, purchasing a knife ahead of time. He picked Harini up around 5 PM and drove her to the hotel, where he later launched the fatal attack after she reiterated her decision to end things.

In his confession, Yashas reportedly said, “If she couldn’t be with me, she shouldn’t be with anyone.”

When she didn’t respond to calls and her phone was found switched off, he feared something was wrong. The next morning, his fears were confirmed when police delivered the devastating news.
