The accused, identified as Farhan, had been arrested for his alleged involvement in a case where several college girls were sexually assaulted, blackmailed, and manipulated. According to police, Farhan and his accomplices are accused of luring female students under false identities, drugging and assaulting them, filming obscene content, and using the material for blackmail. In a sinister twist, the victims were reportedly coerced into drawing more girls into the exploitative trap.

While being escorted by officers from the Ashoka Garden Police Station to verify leads and track down another suspect, Farhan requested the police vehicle stop near Sarwar village in Ratibad, citing a need to relieve himself. A Sub-Inspector accompanied him out of the vehicle, but what happened next caught everyone off guard.

As the officer stepped out with Farhan, the accused suddenly lunged for the service revolver. In the struggle that followed, the gun went off sending a bullet into Farhan’s leg. He was rushed to Hamidia Hospital for medical attention.
Authorities say Farhan had deliberately misled investigators earlier, falsely claiming that a co-accused named Abrar was hiding in Bilkisganj, Sehore. This led the police team including Sub-Inspector Vijay Bamne on a wild goose chase.
