Initially, investigators were stumped. Due to the dense traffic and a lack of CCTV coverage near the scene, identifying the vehicle seemed nearly impossible. But the police left no stone unturned—officers painstakingly combed through hours of CCTV footage from NH-8, covering the stretch between Mahipalpur and the Gurugram border.

Their efforts paid off. Surveillance footage from IFFCO Chowk in Gurugram finally led them to the suspect vehicle—a Renault Triber. The car was registered to a woman who, upon questioning, revealed that her driver was behind the wheel alone at the time of the crash.
