Kedarnath Dham Yatra
The doors of Kedarnath Dham are set to open on May 2, marking the start of the Char Dham Yatra. On the same day, helicopter services will commence from the helipads at Guptkashi, Sirsi, and Phata. However, tickets for the Kedarnath helicopter service up to May 31 were fully booked within just five hours, leaving many pilgrims disappointed.

The Indian Railway Catering and Tourism Corporation (IRCTC) opened its website for online booking of helicopter tickets on Tuesday at 12 PM. Within a few hours, all tickets for the month of May were sold out. Many pilgrims who were ready with their devices to book tickets from noon onwards were unable to secure any, as the tickets were already sold by the time they reached the payment page.

All May Tickets Booked in 5 Hours

The Uttarakhand Civil Aviation Development Authority (UCADA) had scheduled April 8 as the date to begin ticket booking for travel between May 2 to 31. Accordingly, IRCTC opened the booking portal at heliyatra.irctc.co.in. By 5 PM the same day, all helicopter tickets for the month were sold out. Despite being prepared and online at noon, many users found themselves unable to complete the booking process in time, leading to frustration and disappointment.

Next Booking Date Yet to Be Announced
District Tourism Officer Rahul Chaubey confirmed that ticket booking is being conducted exclusively through IRCTC’s official website. Since all tickets up to May 31 have been booked, a new date for the next phase of helicopter ticket booking will be announced soon. Pilgrims are advised to stay updated through official channels for future booking opportunities.
